Year 8/9 Badminton Mastery Scheme of Learning
This scheme is aimed at Y8/9 pupils who have not taken part in Badminton previously in Y7 (therefore can be used at Y7 too).
It follows a mastery approach that means that rather than having specific lesson by lesson plans it looks at overall key areas of development:
Racket familiarisation and rallying,
Serving
Clears
Drop shots
The scheme gives warm ups, a wide variety of activities for each key area and opportunities for peer, self and teacher assessment. This allows teachers to differentiate lessons to fit the ability of each individual group.
Aerobics Scheme of Learning/Work
Step and normal aerobics scheme of work for KS4
including a ‘routine creater’ sheet to allow students to create their own routines.
Athletics Track Events Scheme of Learning
This scheme can be used across Y7 up to KS4 dependent on group ability.
It focuses on 4 key areas of track events:
Sprinting
Sprint starts
Middle distance
Relays
Each key area has a section outlining a variety of activities that can be used to formulate lessons.
Baseline theory paper and mark scheme
Baseline theory paper and mark scheme we use with Y7 students that is easily adaptable to the sports you teach in the first term/year (currently includes questions on: XC, rugby, dance, indoor athletics that will only need the sport changing if you don’t do those particular sports).
Key areas overall:
Warming up
heart rate/breathing rate
components of fitness
risk assessment
diet
health and wellbeing

BTEC TECH Award - Skill related fitness learning mat & cards
A simple learning mat to either recap or introduce the 5 skill related components of skill related fitness for the new BTEC TECH award in sport and a set of mix and match cards for students to complete including key term - definition - sporting link - sporting example
Athletics Field Events Scheme of Learning
This scheme can be used across Y7 up to KS4 dependent on group ability.
It focuses on 6 key areas of field events:
Long Jump
Triple Jump
High Jump
Javelin
Discus
Shot
Each key area has a section outlining a variety of activities that can be used to formulate lessons.
BTEC Sport L2 Physical Components of Fitness
Three resources in one pack, including PP slides, metacognative ‘octagon’ learning mat, mix and match cards
Methods of Training - KS3 Unit of Work - Theory through practical
Full unit of work on the methods of training including:
Scheme of learning
Resources - task cards x5
Exam Paper (non GCSE questions)
Mark Scheme
Follows learning from the current BTEC Sport Unit 1 and creates a foundation for students to continue on to BTEC/GCSE at KS4
